Glen is a self-taught Christchurch based artist that creates from a central city collective space called “The Lobe”. His work is centred around breathing new life into recycled & sustainable materials. Working predominantly with a diverse array of recycled timber sourced from the local Canterbury region, Glen crafts captivating artworks that celebrate the natural hues, richness, and texture of each wood species. Glens Artwork has a history and tells a story, born from materials salvaged from post-earthquake demolitions, family home renovations, and discarded furniture. Glen meticulously selects and combines these timbers through a unique and organic process forgoing any drawing or sketch. Through his art, Glen invites his audience to witness the transformation of discarded materials into stunning, evocative pieces that speak to the beauty of sustainability.
