Raised near Takitimu's resting place, her childhood adventures instilled a profound love for the sea. Collaborating with her husband, John Lolesi, Amie's art intertwines with international waters, reflecting her ancestral ties to ocean travel. Self-taught, her work merges archaeology, anthropology, and geology, focusing on kaitiaki to spark dialogue on Earth stewardship. Aspiring to create larger sculptures and intricate jewellery, Amie's creative journey blends ancient practices with modern techniques, aiming to deepen humanity's connection to the natural world and inspire future generations.
