Niki Pennington (b. 1971) is a British-born, award-winning New Zealand–based artist who holds an MFA from Schule für Gestaltung Basel and is a graduate in Visual Communications from Wellington Polytechnic School of Design. Her practice explores balance and duality—between analogue and digital, chaos and calm. Blending abstraction and representation, she distils visual narratives into evocative compositions that reflect the emotional and sensory dimensions of recollection. Through gestural mark-making and structured layers, her work transforms fleeting moments into lasting impressions, blurring the lines between reality and remembered experience and inviting viewers to reflect on the fluid nature of memory.
