Mauricio Benega

Mauricio Benega, born in São Paulo, Brazil, is a full-time artist based in Okato, New Zealand. He holds degrees in Visual Arts, School Administration, and Motion Graphics. Founder of Studio Benega Ltd, Mauricio creates murals, paintings, illustrations, and more. His work appears in collections across 10+ countries and has earned multiple awards. He’s exhibited in over 40 shows, including EAST Biennial, Imago Mundi, and The Big Hoot. A five-time Contemporary NZ Art Calendar selectee, he’s featured in Auckland Art in the Park (2022–2023, 2025) and continues to inspire through workshops, exhibitions and creative collaborations.
