At the heart of Tessa’s work is the dynamic interaction of sliced panels in her approach to composition. Using her “paint, slice and re-create” technique, she paints full panels, slices them into segments, and then rearranges them, revealing fresh perspectives and unexpected depth. Her aptly named “slat painting” style, inspired by nature, her bush surroundings, and the places she visits, blends abstraction with harmony. Each piece invites viewers to experience familiar forms in new and engaging ways.
